Located 16 miles west of downtown Shanghai, this 400 year old ancient village is one of the city’s best kept secrets. The settlement of Zhujiajiao is from Yuan dynasty, it was a very important marketplace for the surrounding countryside

Discover its picturesque canals, rivers, and the large Dian Shan Lake. Take the opportunity to shop, stroll, and explore this beautiful village--you can even practice your bargaining skills at the local shops. It is very fun to check out the little stuff in the town.

Spending two hours experiencing the local culture before you return to Shanghai, stopping at a silk mill along the way, you will be able to learn about the silk making process of world-famous South China silk.
