They also love to walk around their own city until it takes them to places they haven't even been aware of. That's the experience we'd like to share with you through this tour. We want to take you to our favorite places on the north side of the city, far away from the crowds.
You are going to witness how the life of this city is interconnected with nature. Starting from the central city square, you're walking straight to the base of the mount Medvednica on the north side of the city. Even though it requires you to be in a good walking shape, there's no hiking to the mountain involved - it's going to be a comfortable moderate walk at your preferred pace.
Along your way, enjoy the view of the interesting gardens alongside the famous walking trail called Dubravkin put. It will take you to a famous loan called Cmrok, where you take some hidden stairways and pathways to a lovely 18th century pilgrimage spot. From there, admire one of the oldest trees in the city, hitch a panoramic tram ride in an old-school tram. In just a few minutes, the tram will take you to the foot of mount Medvednica, where we will show you some abandoned objects and then take a lovely path alongside a mountain stream.
After explore all those amazing places the tour guide books don't mention, it's only fair you turn to a cosy traditional restaurant for a lunch. Tram ride and the traditional lunch with one drink is included. Please, inform us before the tour if you have any special diet requirements.
The tour takes around 5 hours and it's cca 7 kilometers walking. Don't feel intimidated by the long distance - it's a long walking tour surrounded by nature. If you will feel like it's too much, it can be shortened and end half-way through. There's no better option if you really wish to explore places that are hard to find by yourself. Most of the time, you're hidden in the shade of the trees so it's a great alternative to classical sightseeing on a hot summer day.
