This gripping play has been mesmerizing audiences on the West End for 28 years and Robin Herford’s production of the timeless tale is enchanting once more, showing at the Fortune Theatre until July 2016.

The transfixing ghost story follows Arthur Kipps, a young lawyer who witnesses glimpses of a shadowy figure of a woman dressed in black at the funeral of the former inhibitor of a house where tragic secrets are buried.

Many years later an elderly Arthur Kipps retells his experiences to a young actor. The action unfolds a midst the eerie whistling of the wind as the two men re-enact Kipps’ ghostly encounters all those years ago.

This dramatic production of Susan Hill’s 1983 horror novella is not for the faint-hearted. Robin Herford’s ingenious production is described as a “brilliantly successful study in atmosphere, illusion and controlled horror.”

The show lasts for two hours.
