The Kicking Horse Classic trip is truly one of the best white water rafting trips in Canada. Enjoy river side BBQ steak, chicken or a vegetarian lunch at the start of your trip. You'll raft the best white water that Kicking Horse has to offer, including Class 3 and 4 rapids such as "Portage and Shotgun", Roller Coaster, the Twin Towers, and Last Waltz. Meet at the Riverside basecamp and save the long bus ride out to the river!Meet at the Kicking Horse Basecamp at 12pm. First, enjoy a delicious riverside lunch of BBQ steak, chicken or vegetarian options. After lunch, your local tour operator will provide all the appropriate river gear (helmets, wetsuits, river shoes, life jackets, etc.) to make the Kicking Horse experience not only amazing but comfortable and safe.
Once you're all geared up, listen to a thorough safety speech on what you can expect. Make the most of your adventure while staying safe. Groups will be separated into boats with qualified experienced Kicking Horse guides. Each guide will go over a boat paddle talk and then take you onto the Kicking Horse River for some practice.
The upper part of the Kicking Horse is a scenic trip with Class 2 and 3 rapids which allows you to get comfortable in the rafts. You will then run the best white water in the Canadian Rockies with Class 3 to 4 rapids including "Portage and Shotgun", Roller Coaster, the Twin Towers, and the Last Waltz - just to name a few.
After the trip, enjoy a short bus ride back from the river to the Kicking Horse Basecamp where you can see the pictures from the trip. The whole trip takes 4 hours to complete and is an easy drive from Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise and Golden.
