Travel along the 170km (105miles)coastline with us, as we scout the awesome Bays for Southern Right Whales and Dolphins, en route to Hermanus.  Although sightings cannot be guaranteed the drive along the False Bay Coastline through the towns of Betty's Bay, Kleinmond and Hawston is nevertheless memorable one with many photograph opportunities. We take no shortcuts to maximise the chances of whale sightings and scenery.

Travel along the 170km (105miles)coastline with us, as we scout the awesome Bays for Southern Right Whales and Dolphins, en route to Hermanus.  Although sightings cannot be guaranteed the drive along the False Bay Coastline through the towns of Betty's Bay, Kleinmond and Hawston is nevertheless memorable one with many photograph opportunities. At around 7:30am: You will be collected from your centrally located Cape Town accommodation at approximately. From there you will travel along the N2 highway towards the Gordons' Bay coastline. The coastline offers good opportunities for photographs and whale watching.

We visit the African "Jackass" Penguin Colony in Betty's Bay.
  1. It's a great place to see the Penguins in their natural environment.
  2. This is also a great place for a break, stretch the legs and grab a cup of coffee
At about 10:30am: Arrive in the coastal town of Hermanus
  1. We Drive along it's coastline looking for the best sightings of Southern Right Whales.
  2. The Cows visit the bay annually to calf.
You will have time to take a lunch break at one of the many little restaurants, dotted along the coastline, overlooking the huge bay area.

3:00pm: After lunch we make our way, along the 85km coastline, to the city. Continue to search the coastline for the Southern right whales on the way back.

Wine Tasting
Along the way back to Cape Town we will stop to do a wine tasting at one of thye coastal Wine Estates. South Africa has a hugely successful wine industry. It covers such a huge area that one needs to sample it's offerings from as wide an area as possible to appreciate what we have to offer.

You will arrive back in Cape Town at approximately 6:00pm.
