Starting in the fall and continuing on into the spring it is possible to snorkel and free-dive with these gentle giants. Whale sharks return to La Paz every year to feed on plankton blooms that occur in the shallow waters of the bay. These blooms attract a large number of whale sharks and it is very common for us to swim with multiple individuals.

This full day expedition begins at 8am. It takes approximately two hours to drive from Los Cabos to La Paz. Once you arrive you will embark on a tour to the area in the bay of La Paz known as "El Mogote", a peninsula that separates the bay from the Sea of Cortez. The tour includes education about the whale shark, conservation efforts and best practices for viewing the whale shark. Your guide will also accompany you into the water and show you the best way to approach and view these magnificent animals.

The tour includes snorkeling equipment and is about 2 hours in total. During the tour you will enter the water in small groups and you will have multiple chances to swim with the whale shark.

After the whale shark tour you will enjoy lunch and refreshments on the Malecon, a boardwalk style area of La Paz before heading to Todos Santos where you have the option to explore the town, head to the beach for some relaxation, surfing or boogie boarding or visit the Tortugueros Las Playitas turtle conservation program and participate in a turtle release.

The tour concludes with drop off at your hotel.
