These creatures prefer the warm surface water in areas where there are outbreaks of colder water rich in nutrients. These conditions favor the growth of plankton on which they feed. During the summer months, whale sharks are abundant in the waters between Holbox and Isla Mujeres island, so this tour is perfect if you wish to swim with them. Often they are seen with schools of stingrays.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cancun at around 7am to reach the port of Punta Sam at 8:30am. Once there, you will enjoy snorkeling and swimming with these gentle creatures and have a wonderful experience. You will also enjoy snacks, drinks and ceviche and enjoy time in North Beach if time allows. The tour lasts 5 and 6 hours.
This tour is seasonal and runs from May 15 to September 15.
