This tour provides a comprehensive oversight of the centre of Rome using an electric golf car, which is allowed to go through the narrow streets of the ancient and medieval quarters of Rome. The golf cars can take either two or four passengers plus the expert guide and driver.You begin your exciting appointment with Rome by going along the full length of Via Veneto, the road of La Dolce Vita. Continue to Via Leonida where you will see the Church of S.ta Maria della Vittoria with the famous statue by Bernini of S.ta Teresa. A short pause to visit this lovely baroque Church. From there you go to the Quirinale where you can enjoy a general view of the Eternal City. Your guide will explain each Monument on the way and will stop at the most exciting sites and the best panoramic views.
The Quirinale Square was the Pope's Palace (as Head of Rome) and is now the Residence of the President of the Italian Republic, you will stop for a brief period before moving to the T errace above the Colosseum where there will be a pause of 15 minutes to enable the guide to describe in detail the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Palatine Hill and the Forum.
You proceed to the Circo Massimo passing the Palatine Hill and thence to the Aventino quarter where you will stop for 10 minutes. On the Aventino there is the Cavalieri di Malta Square (the Knights of Malta Square) where you will visit the most beautiful early Christian Basilicas S.ta Sabina and St. Alessio. You stop for 15 minutes in the Giardino degli Aranci and then continue towards the Tiber River by the Temple of Hercules Victor, the Bocca della Verita' Square and the Teatro di Marcello.
From there you go to Piazza Venezia where is the Vittoriano (the Monument to the Unknown Soldier). Going along Corso Emanuele you will reach P .za Navona with Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers and the architecture of Borromini and Bernini, the two great 17C.architects in Rome. Close by isthe Pantheon - the best preserved monument from Roman Times which you will visit.
