We will continue via the Main Square an past the unique Astronomical clock statue towards the main station where we will go up the park to the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Paul - Petrov. Be ready for some nice views of the city and beyond, if the weather is decent. We will then go via the old cobbled streets towards the Fruit market square (fruit markets take place year round except winter) with the beautiful water fountain. Next up is the city hall with it´s many legends I will share. Crossing the centre to Malinovskeho square will lead us to the street where the 2 main theatres are located. Of course, we will not miss the latest "hit" of Brno - the statue of St. Jost on a horse, which the locals have nicknamed "Giraffe". We will go through the city past the Constitutional Court to the Red Church and finish by the Moravska Gallery, right under Spielberg castle. A lot of local cafe´s and restaurants will be recommended to you on the way so you get some ideas on where to relax after the tour.
However, if you wish to see more, the 4-hour tour then continues up the Spielberg Castle. We will go via the park and check the beautiful views of Petrov. On top, we will enter the Spielberg Complex and walk around the castle walls with beautiful views of the city. There is an option to enter the dungeons (casements), where the prisoners used to be held. It is a very unique experience - please note entrance fee (at an extra cost) is not included in the tour price and will be collected on the spot.
We will pass a lot of interesting spots on the way and I will share the current exhibitions and events going on in the city during your visit. I will do my best to share activities you can do by yourself after we finish the tour.
While Brno might not have as many historical sights as Prague or Vienna, I believe the laid back atmosphere with minimum crowds makes up for it. I promise you will love it...as much as I do!
