Phong Nha Caves are a complex of 14 grottoes situated in a region of Limestone Mountains in Ke Bang National Park. The caves were listed as a World Natural Heritage Site in July of 2003 by Unesco. On the way we visit some of the most famous battlefields in the Vietnam War; Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge, all lie in the Demilitarized Zone of the Vietnam war. After our 3 hour drive having seen the Vietnam War battlefields and some beautiful scenery on the way we stop for lunch in a local restaurant. We then board a local boat and cruise along the river to Phong Nha Cave. The Cham People had once used Phong Nha Cave as Buddhist sanctuaries in the 9th and 10th centuries.

When you get there you will have the chance to explore remains of Cham altars and inscriptions inside the cave. The caves are a total length of 7,279 meters and the deeper cave highlights the magic and natural aspects of this cave system.

We return to Hue in the evening around 7pm.
