Head to Lihue Airport at your pre-arranged departure time for your Kauai biplane tour. Meet your expert pilot, receive a safety orientation, and step inside a modern fixed-wing biplane for a safe, comfortable, scenic flight over Kauai. You'll be provided with vintage cloth helmet and goggles, letting you travel back in time and enjoy an authentic and nostalgic flying experience. Throughout your flight, you can listen and talk to your pilot through your 2-way headset.
Heading north along Kauai’s East Shore, pass popular hotels and beaches such as Kauai Beach Resort, Kauai Beach Villas and Coco Palms, where Elvis made the romantic movie Blue Hawaii. View the Wailua Golf Course and the snaking Wailua River, and spot Fern Grotto and the imposing Sleeping Giant mountain ridge, also known as Nounou Mountain. Your pilot will tell you about this mountain's ancient Hawaiian legends as you fly past.
Fly over rustic Kapa’a Town and pristine Keali’a Beach, glide along the Anahola mountain range, and pass by the northernmost most point in Hawaii, the Kilauea Lighthouse. Continue up the Kilauea River toward the jagged cliffs of Hanalei Valley, and then soar over the ridge of Mt Waialeale – the wettest spot on earth – to admire cascading waterfalls.
Make your way to Kilohana Crater, one of the main volcanoes that created Kauai, and then pass over Wailua Falls and Opaeka’a Falls before arriving back at Lihue Airport.
After admiring the sights above, continue over Kauai’s sunny South Shore, whose highlights include famous Poipu Beach, Spouting Horn, Kipu Kai, Shipwreck Beach, Lawai Beach and Kauai Coffee, Hawaii's largest coffee plantation.
Soar over Hanapepe Valley and Olokele Valley, and then take a big U-turn inside breathtaking Waimea Canyon, known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Descend over open fields to Polihale Beach, the largest beach in Hawaii, which stretches along the ridged Na Pali Coast. Hear stories about the ancient legends of this sacred coastline, where Hawaiians lived in ultimate privacy centuries ago.
You’ll also see the Cathedrals of Honopu'u and the Honopu'u Arches, where several Hollywood movies were filmed, as well as Kalalau Valley. Fly over lush Hanakapi'ai Valley, with its cascading waterfall, and continue over to the secluded Ke'e beach before making your way back to Lihue.
