Enjoy a visit to The Amsterdam Art Experience' exposition of Van Gogh's famous 1888 painting 'Bedroom in Arles' ('The Bedroom'). Enter a room representing an image of the actual room the painter used as inspiration for this artwork.
Upon entering the room, you will find a bed to the right with a chair, a table with water and a window overlooking the street along the back-wall. On the left-hand side you will find another chair as well as a door to the second bedroom.
'Bedroom in Arles' displays Van Gogh’s knowledge of color theory using Orange tones against Blue and Red and Green. Inspired by the Japanese prints Van Gogh used to study, he left out shadows on this picture. The odd angle chosen for the far wall causes for the furniture not to align squarely. Both, the lack of shadows and the distorted perspective the artist chose, lets some of the objects appear to be unsteady or falling -- which is not a result of working fast or a lack of skill.
Learn more about the famous 'The Bedroom' painting by Van Gogh and experience this 3D exposition where you can dress up and pose and have your picture taken in the room! After exploring the exposition, you are welcome to enjoy a beverage (included in entrance ticket) at the on-site Van Gogh Cafe.
