You choose your setting:
Option 1- Top of Gowlland Tod Provincial Park
The trail head is only half an hour from downtown Victoria, and is the most spectacular hike in the Victoria area. Ascend among Grand fir and Arbutus trees to majestic fjord views which include stunning vistas of Finlayson Arm, the Gowlland Range, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Olympic Mountains in Washington State. Round trip distance from the trail head is 6 km (3.6 miles) and elevation gain is about 200 meters (650 feet). Hike is moderate in difficulty - you will need decent hiking shoes and possibly an extra top layer or jacket depending on weather.
Option 2 - 7 Stop Natural Beauty Tour
This tour features the incredible beauty of Victoria's coastline, a good possibility of seeing wildlife, towering Douglas fir forests, and the 360 degree views from the top of Victoria. While this tour is physically easy - less than 1 km (0.6 mile), you should be able to walk up slight inclines comfortably. You will need decent walking shoes and possibly an extra top layer or jacket depending on weather.
After your tour, you'll have learned some cool techniques on how small changes can make a really big difference in the quality of photos you create.
