Skip the Line: Best of Venice Walking Tour Including St Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace (3.5 hours):
Meet your guide near the Rialto Bridge, Venice’s oldest bridge, and set off on your 3.5-hour walking tour to discover the city’s highlights.

Hear about Venice’s history as you navigate winding streets and tiny bridges, and pause at Marco Polo’s house. Listen to tales of the explorer’s sea journeys, and then stroll through the squares of Campo SS Giovanni Paolo and Campo San Luca on route to the Bridge of Sighs.

Continue into St Mark’s Square, the magnificent piazza that Napoleon dubbed ‘the finest drawing room in all Europe,’ and skip the long lines outside St Mark’s Basilica.

Gaze in awe at the mosaics-laden interior with your guide and visit the first-floor terraces — an area off limits to most tours — to behold the bird’s eye views over the piazza.

Next, stroll to the Doge’s Palace, once the home of Venice’s Doge and courts. Enjoy skip-the-line access and a guided tour of the palace highlights, including its glorious frescos by Tintoretto and Veronese.

Afterward, enjoy 1.5 hours at leisure before your Murano and Burano tour. Perhaps use the time to shop for souvenirs, enjoy lunch (own expense) or just people-watch from a café.

Murano and Burano Tour (5 hours):
When the time comes, take a scenic water taxi ride to the nearby island of Murano, famous for its vibrantly colored glass.

Visit a glassblowing workshop to see the skilled craftspeople in action. Watch entranced as the glass is blown, colored and shaped into a dazzling array of products, and visit a glass showroom to admire and perhaps buy some finished pieces (own expense) at discounted prices.

Next, cruise on to the neighboring island of Burano. Take snaps of the rainbow-painted houses along the canals, and hear about the island’s lacemaking heritage at a lace workshop.

Watch the lacemakers at work, and hear how this delicate craft is a dying art. Browse some lace samples, and perhaps buy some keepsakes (own expense) at discounted prices before your tour ends with a return boat ride.
