If you're interested in sampling British Columbia wine, spend your time in port in Vancouver on a private shore excursion to Fraser Valley. During your half-day tour you’ll visit two wineries — Lulu Island and Domaine de Chaberton. Enjoy wine tastings, including a sample of Canada’s famed ice wine; take a tour of winemaking facilities; and eat lunch alongside a vineyard. Plus, you’ll visit Krause Berry Farms for a slice of fresh berry pie. Port pickup and drop-off is included. When you disembark your cruise ship in Vancouver, your shore excursion to the Fraser Valley wine region starts with pickup at the Vancouver port. Depending on how many people are in your party, travel by private sedan, SUV, limousine or van; the drive to your first winery will take approximately 30 minutes.

When you arrive at Lulu Island Winery, enjoy a tasting that includes their award-winning ice wine, one of British Columbia’s best. Learn about this famous Canadian wine varietal, in which the grapes are picked while frozen.

After half an hour at Lulu Island, head to your second winery, Domaine de Chaberton, about a 30-minute drive away. Take a short tour with a member of the winery staff, and learn about the Violet family, who started Domaine de Chaberton after leaving their winery in France.

Enjoy a wine tasting, and then sit down to lunch in the on-site bistro, located on the edge of the property’s oldest vineyard. Lunch includes two courses — a soup or salad to start, followed by a main course of ham and cheese crepes, warm spinach salad or onion and oka (a Canadian cheese) quiche. Tea and coffee will also be served.

After two hours at Domaine de Chaberton, hop back in your vehicle for the 15-minute drive through the countryside to your final stop, Krause Berry Farms. Spend about an hour at this working farm, where you’ll indulge in a slice of berry pie or enjoy some homemade ice cream. Have a little fun on the farm with a wagon ride around the berry fields, and, if you wish, visit the on-site estate winery before beginning the 45- to 60-minute drive back to the Vancouver port.
