Let the tunes of local folk music entertain you and be mesmerized by the vibrant colors of the jungle in the Mekong Delta.After leaving Ho Chi Minh City in the morning hours around 8.00AM, you can enjoy the morning scenery of the local rice fields as we approach the Mekong Delta. On the half way you will get a chance to experience the Vietnamese life on the road, as we will make a short stop at a rustic, local hammock café where they serve classic Vietnamese coffee among other refreshments (Not Included).
As we arrive around 10.30AM, near the riverbank at Ben Tre, you are guided to a nearby village, where you will get a chance to great the locals as they will present you with their heritage. Here they will serve you with tropical fruits and honey tea, with fresh honey from their own beehives. As you enjoy their local delicacies the villagers will enchant you with their local folk music. Continuing the journey by a small rowing boat down the streams of the Mekong River, you will have a chance to get inspired by the vibrant colors at the riverbanks and enjoy the calm motions on the water.
When getting of the boat you will visit the local Coconut Candy Workshop, which is just one of many things, this area is famous for. Watch as the villagers boil the Coconut Candy in the pots, while others are cutting and wrapping the candy with amazing preciseness.
You will arrive at the orchard restaurant after a refreshing trip by boat down the Mekong River. Upon ordering the trip, you will have the opportunity to choose either a Basic Meal or Premium. If Basic Meal is chosen, you will get the experience of an everyday meal in Vietnam which will consist of boiled rice, fried pork chops (Please notify guide if special preferences) and accommodating sauces. With the Premium Meal you will receive a delicious experience of the Vietnamese cuisine, with Vietnamese pancakes, spring rolls and fried fish from the river. (Please note that beverages are not included in any of the meals).
Yet again you will enjoy the fresh air on the Mekong River, as you will be taken by boat back to My Tho. Upon arrival a bus will be waiting for you to bring you back to Ho Chi Minh City. Before leaving My Tho we will delight you with a visit to the Vinh Trang Pagoda, which is home for three Buddha’s that will impress your with their size. The old temple gates are decorated with artistic imagery made out of broken ceramics and the court yard will mesmerize with the many plants and flowers, all being maintained by monks at the monetary. After the visit we will head back to Ho Chi Minh City and we will arrive just in time for you to reenter the streets of Saigon at dinner time.
