In just 2 hours from Bucharest, you will be up in the Carpathian Mountains. You will enjoy a beautiful road which starts in Bucharest and ends at 2000 meters altitude. From there, few hours of moderate hiking to discover some of the most famous natural monuments from Romania: The Sphinx and The Old Women rock formation. In just 2 hours from Bucharest, you will be up in the Carpathian Mountains. You will enjoy a beautiful road which starts in Bucharest and ends at 2000 meters altitude. From there, few hours of moderate hiking to discover some of the most famous natural monuments from Romania: The Sphinx and The Old Women rock formation. Also, fabulous views from The Cross on top of the Carpathian Mountains.You will be picked up from your location in Bucharest at 8AM. After 2 hours driving, you will reach Sinaia Mountain Resort. From there starts a spectacular road through forests in the mountains. Another 25 minutes and you are at 1700 meters altitude. There starts the adventure ! One hour easy hiking and you will discover The Old Women rock formation and The Sphinx.

The Sphinx in Bucegi is situated at 2,216 meters altitude and resembles a human face. It earned its current name in 1936 when the rock, now 8 meters tall and 12 meters wide, was viewed from a specific angle.Sphinx in Bucegi is the same height as the Sphinx in Giza, Egypt. Some researchers believed it was carved by human hand and it represents a supreme divine figure of olden Indo-European tribes,

The Old Women rock formation: The legends are bringing together reality with the supernatural. Some researchers believe that water and wind were the main factors in their formation, while others do not exclude the possibility that they were shaped by human hand.

After another 1 hours and 30 minutes, you will reach Heroes' Cross on Caraiman Peak. This  is a monument built between 1926 and 1928 on Caraiman Peak at an altitude of 2,291 meters. The cross itself has a height of 28 metres (92 ft) and two arms of 7 metres (23 ft) each. The Heroes’ Cross on Caraiman Peak has received official recognition from the Guinness World of Records as the largest cross on a mountain peak. The Heroes' Cross was built in the memory of the railway heroes who died on duty in World War I.

In the evening, you will be transferred back in Bucharest to your location, approx 9PM.
