Drive through the hills of the northern aerea of Naples and discover the ruins of the greek town of Cumae, visit the Amphitheater of Pozzuoli and the archeological Park of Baiae. The trip from Naples to the village of Baia is short but full of surprises, along the way we will stop at the Aragonese Castle, the Amphitheater of Pozzuoli, the Archaeological Park of Baia and the ruins of Cumae. Finally, the most exciting part of the tour: a boat trip aboard of a glass bottom boat to have the chance to see our lost Atlantis!
The Roman town of Baia is submerged because 2000 years ago due to the bradyseismic movements (volcanic phenomenon) the ancient coastal belt in north of Naples collapsed, the result being the total submersion of all the buildings which were constructed upon it. The first recovery of archaeological finds took place in the 1920s when, during the construction works pertaining to the widening of the docks at Port Venero, sculptures, architectonic elements and water systems with imperial insignias came to light. After the boat trip the tour stops by a local restaurant to let you enjoy a proper traditional meal.
