This 2-day Llactapata trek will take you to an archaeological site of small Inca ruins on your way to Machu Picchu. Llactapata by name in Quechua means "High City" and you'll see the incredible

Your overnight tour will take you to the Llactapata ruins. This place fulfilled a religious and agricultural importance which is reflected by its proximity to other resorts as well as wealth and fertile lands which were very well used. The strategic location indicates its importance which expressed the Inca domination. During the trek, you will enjoy the view of the landscape of the cloud forest.
Day 1:
You will wake up at 4am and be picked up from your hotel in Cusco. You'll head to the Hidrolectrica and on the way there, you can admire the cloud forest and mountain landscapes. Once you reach Hidroelectrica, you will climb up to the Llactapata Inca Complex and enjoy a guided tour. Then, you'll head back to the starting point and hike for three hours until Aguas Calientes where you will spend the night.
Day 2:
You will wake up early and start a 2-hour hike to Machu Picchu. Once there, you will enjoy a guided tour of the citadel and learn about its importance and history. You have the option of climbing Huayna Picchu (must be booked in advance) or just explore the site on your own. After enjoying time here, you will retrun to Cusco by train and then by bus.
