As you travel along the scenic Southern Cape coast, discover how Tsitsikamma, Africa’s first marine national park, protects a wonderland of intertidal life, as well as reef and deep-sea fish. Hear from your guide about the many dolphins that frolic in the nearby waves, and the southern right whales that visit the shores to breed.
On arrival, hop out of your minivan and set off at a leisurely pace to explore with your guide. (Note: The order of the activities as described may be subject to change on the day of the tour.)

Walking along the boardwalk, gaze up at the towering milkwood, yellowwood and stinkwood trees. After roughly a mile (1.6 km), arrive at the Storms River suspension bridge. Spanning the Storms River Mouth, this incredible structure hangs just 23 feet (7 meters) above the churning waters of the river and provides breathtaking views of the craggy cliffs and coves along the coastline.
For a closer look at the jagged shoreline, cross over the bridge and spend a few moments snapping photos. Then, climb back inside your minivan and journey to the viewpoint at Plettenberg Bay, about 37 miles (60 km) away. On arrival, let the tranquility wash over you as you soak up the sweeping ocean panoramas. If you’re visiting between June and October, look out for southern right whales that may be coming near the shore to breed.
Around halfway through your tour, enjoy some free time at a local restaurant to recharge with lunch (own expense).
Return to the minivan and make for Nature’s Valley on the banks of the Groot River. One of the most picturesque beauty spots along the Garden Route, it is a birdwatcher’s paradise and home to species such as the African black oystercatcher and Cape eagle-owl.
Your final stop of the tour is at Bloukrans Bridge. Standing 709 feet (216 meters) above the Bloukrans River, it is one of the world’s highest bungee sites. If you’re feeling adventurous, test your nerve with a bungee jump (booking required in advance). Alternatively, get your adrenaline fix by watching the jumpers instead.
After exploring Tsitsikamma National Park, your tour concludes with a drop-off back at your Knysna hotel.
