Limo Transportation back to your hotel/appartment in Bologna. You will be picked up at your hotel/apartment in Bologna in the afternoon in a comfortable minivan/car. We will drive up into the hills of Bologna to our destination Savigno, a small village famous for white and black truffles.
We will welcome you to Appennino Food, a local Truffle Factory, which holds the record for the largest Truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico) weighing 1,483.596 grams (52.3323 oz). Appennino Food has been in the truffle business for 30 years. Here you will have an introduction into the Italian truffle world and you will be able to tour the factory to see how they process truffles and transform them into delicious products, such as ragu' sauces along with vegetables and mushrooms.
Afterwards we will have a one-hour truffle hunt near the factory with our licensed truffle hunter and his dog, Macchia. You will see the special relationship between the truffle hunter and his dog and you will learn about the unique symbiosis of truffles and trees. After the hunt we will take a break in a local winery, have aperitivo with wine tasting. After this a short stop in the private collecation of old FIAT cars. Following this viewing you will enjoy dinner at Amergio 1934, a one star Michelin trattoria. Here, Marina and Alberto will be waiting for you with a 5-course degustation menu (including black truffles, mushrooms and vegetables of the season) with local wine pairings.
This will be a truly unique and unforgettable experience to learn about the amazing truffle in a beautiful region of Italy. Seasonal Emilia Romagna’s Truffle:
September – December White Truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico)
January – April: Bianchetto Truffle ( Tuber Albidum Pico)
May – September: Black Summer Truffle (Tuber Aestivum Vitt)
