Meet the truffle hunter and his dog to see with your eyes how truffles are found. Then continue on to a small family-run Barolo winery visiting the cellar and indulging in a tasting of at least three wines.

This is a half-day excursion (up to 4 hours) with a certified local guide. Discover the two most renowned, precious and famous products of Piemonte: truffles and Barolo wine. Meet the truffle hunter and his dog to see with your eyes how truffles are found. Then continue on to a small family-run Barolo winery visiting the cellar and indulging in a tasting of at least three wines.Drive from Alba (or from your hotel, if located within the surrounding area) to meet the truffle hunter and his inseparable dog. Your certified local guide will reveal all the differences between white and black truffles, how to eat them and together you will identify trees and climate conditions needed for truffles to grow. You will help the hunter to extract these precious mushrooms from the soil. Later, drive to the heart of the production of Barolo wine where the guide will tell you about the unique soil composition and conformation of the "Langhe" hills. Step into a local, family-run winery and visit the cellar where Barolo is produced and aged. A tasting of three wines, including Barolo, will end your excursion before going back to the starting point.
