Slovenia, a country tucked between Austria, Hungary, Italy and Croatia, sometimes gets overlooked by travelers doing the grand tour of Europe. This is a mistake. Ljubljana is one of the most underrated capital cities in Europe, and you'll gain a new appreciation of Slovenian culture and history at this traditional folk dance and dinner show.
Make your way to central Ljubljana to enjoy this evening of merriment. When you get to the restaurant, you're greeted with šklojce, (traditional Slovenian schnapps) and some dried fruit.
Then, take a seat at your table and sink your teeth into four traditional courses, washed down with a glass of Slovenian wine. Everything from peasant-style chicken (pork option is available upon request) to salad to a traditional dessert is offered. See the Itinerary for a sample menu.
Between each course, enjoy some folksy entertainment. Watch three charming dance performances, and then after your main course, take part in Slovenian dances and games such as pouštertanc, which translates as 'the
cushion dance.' Learn, too, how to polka.
