Get to know Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia and a true Baroque gem with its own unique charm. The tour begins with a drive to the charming lake resort of Bled, famous for its medieval castle on a cliff high above the lake and the amazing Alpine peaks that surround it. Castle terraces offer spectacular views of the lake and the tiny island it's planted on. Later on, we will take a break to taste one of the most famous Slovenian desserts, "kremšnita," the delicious vanilla custard and cream cake.
After enjoying the lake's beautiful nature, we’ll head to Slovenia’s capital city, Ljubljana. The tour starts in front of the Town Hall and continues through the historical city center. Admire its mixture of Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture and masterful creations by the 20th century architect Jože Plečnik. The excursion includes a stroll around the medieval Old Town, visiting the New and Old Markets, the Triple Bridge and the Dragon Bridge, Ljubljana’s trademark. The tour ends with a funicular ride, which departs from the Krekov square and goes up to the Ljubljana Castle. Enjoy one final view of the city set along the banks of the emerald green river Ljubljanica. Have lunch (not included) at a traditional Slovenian restaurant to taste some of the exquisite local meals.
