Start a vertical wine tasting with a White Port Wine. White Ports differ from each others in sweetness and ageing period. The youngest Ports are normally drunk in the beginning of meals. The oldest ones have longest ageing periods and intense flavours and should be drunk at dessert. Our second it´s Ruby in colour, this wine is obtained by blending different harvests, initially aged in oak vats and subsequently blended after 3 years. Try the Tawny Port wine obtained from blends of, usually 4 year-old wines aged in wine seasoned casks. This way, they don't present the characteristics of oak ageing. During the ageing process several racking are performed in order to force oxidation and endow the wine with a golden colour. 10 year old are tawny obtained from a blend of wines from several harvests in order to join different organoleptic characteristics such as colour, aroma and flavour. The ageing period in wood is variable and the age on the wine's label corresponds to the average age of the different wines used in the blend, a mixture of two or more grape varieties.
LBV ageing potential made 5 years after the Vintage. Its ageing takes place in large vats, oak tuns or stainless steel tanks in order for the oxidative evolution to be extremely slow.
To make this experience even more delicious, the port wines tasting will be combined with pasteis de Nata (old receipt)
