Your adventure begins departing early morning from the city of Palenque with direction to Puerto Fronterizo the Ceibo in Mexico and Guatemala. Then you leave to the Guatemalan Peten, to reach the archaeological site of Tikal. The scheduled arrival will be around 1pm later to enjoy this amazing Mayan city in the middle of the Guatemalan jungle. You can explore this amazing site either enjoying the sunset or sunrise the next day; or if you want you can take both options.
Tikal is the largest excavated site in the American continent and contains some of the most fascinating archaeological remains of the ancient Maya civilization. It is Guatemala's most famous cultural and natural preserve and was declared a national park in 1955 and a World Heritage site by Unesco in 1979. You'll stay overnight at a Lodge located in Remate City, the nearest place to Tikal National Park. It is only 15 minutes from the park entrance, located on the eastern tip of Lake Peten Itza, halfway between Tikal and Flores.
On the second day (according your selection sunshine or sunrise) you will continue exploring the site. The Sunrise experience will allow you to enjoy the awakening of the beings of Peten, and see and hear the jungle and all its resident wildlife. After this, you'll move back to the hotel to have breakfast and then transfer back to Palenque at 9 a.m. (Approximate time of arrival is 6pm local time).
