Your 4-hour private tour starts with pickup at a central meeting point chosen by you, typically a hotel or apartment. With your guide, you will be taken on a quick ride to the largest urban rainforest in the world: Tijuca National Park. You will have a chance to explore this place which houses hundreds of species of plants and animals. Not just that, but Tijuca Park serves as a striking reminder of the Atlantic rainforest that used to cover the entire eastern coast of South America.
You’ll start near the entrance with a view of one of the most beautiful waterfalls in all of Latin America. Your guide will be there to show you the best of the green rainforest.
You'll then continue your tour by hiking up to Pico da Tijuca, Rio’s highest peak. Here, you will learn about the park’s fragile ecosystem and witness why the locals call the park the “lungs of Rio.” You will reach the summit standing at an altitude of 1,017 meters above sea level. Pico da Tijuca's summit is worth the trip as you'll be able to take in one of the most impressive views in all of Rio. Enjoy a panoramic view that includes Guanabara Bay and the legendary Maracanã Stadium.
After taking that in, your tour will continue through the forest where, if you look closely, you may encounter unique animals including the Saguis and Capuchin monkeys, toucan, hawks, quatis (Brazilian raccoon), and numerous exotic plants.
This tour is designed for all those nature-loving people who would like to enjoy a different side of Rio de Janeiro.
