This tour is a short drive outside of Austin Texas. Get an insiders view of the growing olive oil industry right outside the bustling city. Topics include History of the Orchard, State of Texas Olive Industry, Farming Methods, Harvesting Practices, Milling Process, Extra Virgin Olive Oil 101 and Q&A.At the gate we discuss how the Gambini's & the Mensik's got started and the current state of the Texas Olive Industry. We take a short walk into the orchard to look at the trees and discuss the different olive varieties grown onsite as well as planting and harvesting practices. In our Italian mill we walk through the process of milling the olives.
We go over guidelines for making Extra Virgin Olive Oil and give a brief Extra Virgin Olive Oil 101 type discussion so everyone leaves with an understanding of what EVOO is compared to Virgin, Light or Pure olive oil. After the tour the tasting bar is open for everyone to get a taste of our Award Winning Extra Virgin Olive Oils and Premium Balsamic Vinegars. We also have a gift shop, wine bar & bistro that visitors can enjoy.
