This day tour will take you to the Templars monuments in central Portugal! Departing from Lisbon, you and your group will enjoy a day away from the city visiting three sites where the Templars built significant monuments that are still preserved today. A historical excursion to this mystique order also known as Knights Templars or Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon.After meeting your guide at your hotel at 8:30am, you will drive for approximately 2.5 hours to reach Ourém medievel Castle. After visiting the castle, take a short 45 minute drive to Tomar and visit the Aqueduct of Pegões, Christ Convent and Church of Saint Mary of Olive Grove. Next, after a leisure 40 minute drive you will reach Almourol Castle and enjoy a guided tour of the Castle (summer only).
At the end of the tour, you will transfer to your hotel in Lisbon. The return drive will take approximately 2 hours.
Please note: Lunch will be suggested in a typical restaurant and free-time will be allotted for shopping. The itinerary is flexible and can be arranged to accommodate your needs. The driving times are only references as to due weather and/or traffic conditions can be longer/shorter.
