This half-day culinary adventure includes a one-hour cooking class. You’ll have the opportunity to taste some of the best dumplings from the street food which will be recommended by your knowledgeable local guide. After your walking tour, your tour guide will teach you to make your own dumplings and Chinese buns- Shanghai’ s classic pan-fried buns, in a cooking lesson taught by a local chef.

This half-day culinary adventure includes a one-hour cooking class. You’ll have the opportunity to taste some of the best dumplings from the street food which will be recommended by your knowledgeable local guide. After your walking tour, your tour guide will teach you to make your own dumplings and Chinese buns- Shanghai’ s classic pan-fried buns, in a cooking lesson taught by a local chef. After meeting your guide in your hotel lobby, you will start your exciting tour. First you we will guide you on a walking tour of the former French Concession, a beloved treelined neighborhood, to find some of Shanghai's best dumplings.

After that, we will stop by street stalls and casual local eateries to watch experts make the fresh dumplings that you get to try. Depending on what’s available, your will taste some samples. Along the way, your guide will explain the differences in taste, texture and cooking techniques of China’s bite-size snacks.

After this you’ll have a 1-hour cooking class. During your cooking lesson, a local chef will introduce you shengjianbao- Chinese buns and dumplings, and how to make them. They are a real Shanghai classic. Throughout all the steps included in making these delights, you’ll gain valuable tips from your master instructor and learn about the differences between Chinese and Western-style cooking.

Once the hard work is done, enjoy the shengjianbao and dumplings you made by yourselves. Wash it all down with complimentary soft drinks and water. After you’ve had your fill, your guide will take you to make one final tasting stop, head out once more on foot and follow your guide to the nearby wet market to see where the locals shop the groceries. You’ll notice that the markets in Shanghai have a lot of ingredients which aren’t used outside of China, and your guide will help you explain what everything is.

After this the tour ends and we will bring you back to your hotel.
