Meet a local professional artist in the heart of Taormina. After 3 mins walking, you will be welcomed in her own traditional Sicilian workshop of Ceramic and Art and enjoy a small group painting class limited to 6 people. Before the start of your art experience you will be pleased to choose your own Sicilian cold ceramic souvenir to be painted in accordance with two options of the class.
Option 1 includes a wide range of typical Sicilian objects such as trinacria (symbol of Sicilian island), Sicilian sun, fishes, fruits, plates, traditional wall decorations. All the souvenirs have approximate size of 15*15 cm and considered to be painted in a basic easy way in max 1,5 hour.
Option 2 includes the same range of cold ceramic objects, but of bigger sizes approximately 25*25 cm, which considered to be painted in a more professional complex technic in max 2,5 hours.
During both options, the artist will guide you step by step through the creative process and bring you special insights into the techniques, traditions and mythologies employed over the various periods in Sicily. In the middle of the class you will enjoy a little break for a glass of cold prosecco on the balcony of the workshop, or on the outside stairs decorated like an art gallery.
After your artistic work is finished, your unique Sicilian souvenir will be dry and ready to be taken home in 15 minutes.
The class is a perfect cultural experience to go inside of Sicilian traditions and history, which will be interesting for guests of every ages, including kids, and of every level of painting skills.
