Explore Suzhou’s Lion Grove Garden on this day trip. You’ll get the chance to see how life in Suzhou has remained unchanged over the past few centuries in southern China’s unique towns, and get the chance to see Suzhou’s magnificent gardens.
After meeting your guide in your hotel lobby at 8:30 am, you will start your exciting Suzhou day tour. Suzhou is one of the oldest towns in the Yangtze basin. It is world-renowned for its beautiful gardens, and is often referred to as the Venice of the East.
Your first stop is the Lion Grove Garden, one of the four most famous gardens in Suzhou. This garden is famous for its large and labyrinth-like grotto of rocks at the center. This is also where the name of these gardens comes from, as the rocks are often said to resemble lions. The gardens are on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.
Then you will visit Zhuozheng Garden. These gardens are considered by some to be the finest in all of southern China, and first built in the 12th century.
After lunch, take a hand boat and enjoy a walk along the Pingjiang Road. Suzhou’s Pingjiang Road is a historic street, little shops, and traditional Song Dynasty style houses over 800 years old.
You will ride back by boat, enjoying the scenery and waterways of Suzhou. After the tour, you will be brought back to your hotel around 5 pm.
