Enjoy the upper whitewater section, then pause for a delicious western style grilled meal - cowboy style - then hit the water again! Perched on the river's edge, our riverside dinner site overlooks the biggest rapids in the canyon.
Dinner includes a choice of steak or trout, potato salad, pasta salad, garlic bread, corn on the cob, dutch oven cobbler and hot/cold beverages. You can only get there by raft, so let us show you the finest dining in Jackson Hole.
CHECK-IN & TRANSPORTATION:
This trip requires check-in 30 minutes prior to launch time. The check-in location is at the Mad River office located at 1255 S HWY 89, just 2 miles south of town. Transportation from the Mad River Boat house to the river and back is provided on every Mad River trip. Complimentary pick up is available at most Jackson and Teton Village locations.

The 8-Mile Whitewater is the classic whitewater trip on the Snake River. People come from all over the world to experience our river. Join us on the 8-Mile Whitewater and you'll see why the Snake River is such an unforgettable place. We welcome everyone from first timers to return rafters on this trip. So whether you're a newcomer, it's been 30 years, or you're a seasoned river rat, come experience the most unique dinning Jackson has to offer.
This trip launches from West Table Boat Ramp in the Snake River Canyon and winds its way south toward Alpine, WY. You'll travel 8 river miles from start to finish where there are about 8 sets of rapids, ranging from class I and II to class III. Various river features will be encountered, such as Million Dollar Fishing Hole, Gauging Straights and Bailing Straights. Your guides will inform you on the history of the area as well as the local flora and fauna. In the middle of the trip we'll pause just after Gauging Straights at Mad River's exclusive river access at Blind Canyon - overlooking the two largest rapids in the canyon for a unique dining experience. At the end of your meal, you will hit the water once again to finish out your whitewater experience with the biggest rapids in the canyon right off the bat.
The Snake River Canyon is rich in geological history and your guide will point out some of the features that make this canyon unique. You may see river otters, osprey and bald eagles on your trip. A lucky few might even catch a glimpse of a mountain goat, a mule deer, an elk or even a grizzly or black bear.
BOAT TYPE:
This trip features our smallest raft. This raft is an AIRE inflatable, self-bailing, 13'6" raft. This is a 6 man raft. There are 6 paddling positions in this raft.
