Join this small group tour (maximum 16 passengers) and follow in the footsteps of great Scottish heroes on this historic and scenic trip into the Scottish heartlands. Enjoy a day with at least 5 fabulous stops including Stirling Castle, whisky tour and tasting at the Glengoyne Distillery and a scenic drive through the Highlands to the legendary Loch Lomond. You’ll pass Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, en route to your first stop at Stirling Castle. Perhaps Scotland’s most important castle, a recent survey also rated it the UK’s favorite heritage attraction. The view from the castle across the River Forth to the National Wallace Monument and Ochil Hills is inspiring.
Shortly after leaving Stirling you come face-to-face with hairy Highland cows, everyone’s favorite photo stop (April to October). You’ll then continue through the Trossachs, or ‘Highlands in miniature’, via a scenic drive over the Duke’s Pass to include several wonderful photo opportunities.
After lunch it’s onwards to famous Loch Lomond. Here you’ll enjoy a short nature walk in the National Park culminating in a superb viewpoint over Scotland’s largest lake and the Highlands.
Finish the day at Glengoyne Distillery with a guided tour and the opportunity to sample their signature 12 year old malt.
