Take a tour of the winery buildings, including the cellar and trophy room where Els’ finest golfing awards are held. Then, take a seat and drink in views of Stellenbosch and the surrounding vineyards and mountains as you taste four wine varietals.
Next, continue to the Stellenbosch Hills estate. Here, learn about South Africa’s winemaking heritage before savoring four of the estate’s finest wine varietals, such as pinotage and merlot blends, each perfectly paired with biltong or droëwors.
Following your roughly 30-minute tasting, soothe your sweet tooth at Clos Malverne, where you’ll pair your wine tasting with artisan ice cream. Discover how the head chef at the estate’s restaurant develops new flavors and aromas each season to match the wine, and then sample delights such as passion fruit and white chocolate ice cream with sauvignon blanc, or peppermint dark chocolate chip ice cream with a pinotage reserve
