Come on a unique journey that goes deep into the rainforests of Stanley Park. Rewild yourself for a few hours and learn how to expand your sensory awareness through the practice of immersive meditation. On this 2.5 hour adventure tour and immersive meditation workshop you get to learn about the fascinating symbiosis and interconnectivity of plants, trees and fungi, explore old-growth forest groves and hear some of the native legends of the fabled Stanley Park landscape.
During the tour, you will have the opportunity to learn an immersive meditation practice called Embodied Cognition, which is easy to start practicing and it gives you the freedom to meditate anywhere. This practice involves anchoring your awareness in your breath and the feelings in your body so you can explore the rich natural environment with heightened awareness of the sights, smells and sounds around you.
Embodied Cognition is a useful technique for anyone who struggles with traditional sitting meditation but wants to experience the enormous benefits of meditation. It is an ideal practice if you spend a lot of time outside because it helps you go beyond the perpetual analysis and past/future dualism of your mind and become more immersed in a state of "mindfulness" while exploring in nature.
This tour is going to end at 3rd Beach in Stanley Park to watch the sunset at the legendary Brahm's Tams drum circle there. If you want to meet interesting new people and learn about the local Vancouver culture while also learning to expand and focus your sensory awareness when you're hiking in nature, then join us on this fun summer adventure.
