Skip-The-Line and explore one of the most unusual Imperial Residences in the suburbs of Saint Petersburg - Pavlovsk. Home to the family of Emperor Paul the First, son of Empress, Catherine the Great, this place will reveal the secrets of the 'strangest' Russian Emperor, will introduce you to his family and will make you fall in love with the cosy sweet home that the family shared.Your private guide and driver will meet you in the lobby of your centrally located hotel and together you will depart to Tsarskoye Selo in your private vehicle. On your way to the Suburban Imperial residence you will hear live commentary of your tour guide about the sights you will be passing by, if necessary it is possible to make photo stops where traffic permits.
You will drive all along Moskovsky avenue - the longest street in the city, drive by the House of Soviets - an impressive Soviet-style architectural masterpiece with a statue of Lenin (one of the few left in the city) in front of it; pass by the Victory Square with the Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad, and proceed in the direction of the airport.
You will drive through Tsarskoye Selo, past the Egyptian Gate - which used to mark the main entrance into Tsarskoye Selo Imperial residence, past Fyodorovsky citadel, along the narrow shadowed streets of the little town where Alexander Pushkin, a famous Russian Poet, used to study and live. You will drive by Podvorye restaurant - one of the most popular places to eat in this area.
Upon arrival to Pavlovsk, you will enter the palace from the spectacular courtyard (which offers great photo opportunities), and will start your tour from the lower vestibule. On your tour, you will see the state palace interiors used mainly for receptions, and will then explore the ground level of the palace with the family's private rooms. You will not only learn facts and figures, but will also hear numerous fascinating stories about Emperor Paul and his family.
After the palace tour you will have a chance to enjoy a relaxing walk in the park and take numerous great photos. You may enhance your park tour by taking a horse-driven coach ride (additional cost).
