When your ship reaches the island of St Maarten, make your own way to the tour departure location in Simpson Bay, about 6 miles (9.5 km) west of the cruise terminal in Philipsburg. After checking in and meeting your expert crew, hop aboard the Random Wind, a 54-foot (16-meter) sailboat that holds a maximum of just 22 passengers. This family-friendly sailing yacht provides three ‘chill lounges’ where you can sit comfortably on cushioned seats with backrests as you listen to music on the stereo system.
Pull out of the marina and head up the coastline of St Maarten, stopping at two beaches for fun in the sun. Visit both the French and Dutch sides of the island, where you can swim, snorkel, use a stand-up paddleboard in the sea, and perhaps try a mud bath on shore if you'd like a bit of a natural spa experience. Enjoy homemade Caribbean dishes for lunch, such as coconut chicken with rice, cooked fresh on board while you play.
Swing into the water from the Tarzan trapeze, and sip drinks from the open bar, including top-shelf rum, gin, vodka and tequila as well as beer, juice and bottled water. Your tour ends back at the starting point in Simpson Bay, from where you can make your own way back to the cruise port.
