Learn the traditional dances, meet local authors, taste local foods, interact with local artists but most importantly be part of an authentic experience. The Cultural Yard provides you with just this experience, located in the north of the island, it is a hub of activity for shopping, dancing and relaxing.A shuttle bus will pick you up from your port or hotel and take you to The Cultural Yard. Upon arrival a refreshing local beverage will be served to you. Take a few minutes to explore the local bookstore and arts and crafts vendor displays before settling down for a magnificent local show.
Traditional dances will be portrayed after which the audience will be engaged and taught how to dance themselves. Following the dancing, local food will be sampled and you have a chance to meet local chefs to ask about the ingredients and preparation. Finally, we culminate with a celebration of St. Lucian music.
Local authors will be available on different days for book signing and readings. You may even get the chance to meet the great Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott.
