Although resembling a fortress, the 'palace' is enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage site due to it being one of the most significant original structures of late ancient architecture. Today it is Split's center, allowing it to be one of the major tourist destinations in Croatia. Departing from Dubrovnik on a private excursion along the Dalmatian coast, there is time for a detour to a viewing point of the ravishing Bacina lakes. After enjoying a panoramic view of the picturesque landscape, the drive continues towards Split, where a private guide is available upon request.
