Continue to the black-sand beach of Reynisfjara to see its basalt rock stacks that jut out of the sea; according to local legend, the sea stacks were mischievous trolls turned to rock by the rising sun. Finish with a stop at Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall.
Your full route takes in expanses of fertile farming land as well as several small villages that are typical of southern Iceland — rich with Viking history and heritage.
