Make your way to the popular Sternbräu in Salzburg Old Town, near Mozart Residence. Doubling as a traditional Austrian beer hall, Sternbräu has gained a loyal following among locals and visitors alike, who visit for its homebrewed beer and classic Austrian food.
If you choose the dinner option, head to Sternbräu an hour before the show starts for a meal of Austrian classics by candlelight, enhanced with live piano music. Enjoy hearty favorites such as pork and dumplings with the 3-course dinner, or opt for a more substantial affair with the 4-course dinner, which includes an apéritif followed by a selection of traditional Austrian bread, salmon, beef and dessert. Then, sit back and enjoy the 1.5-hour show. With a harmonic blend of beloved songs from The Sound of Music and operettas from Salzburg’s musical past, the show kicks off in style. Costumed performers evoke the feeling of bygone times as they sing and act out “The Hills are Alive,” “Do-re-mi,” “Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss” and more. The songs are mixed along with classical pieces by Austrian composers such as WA Mozart and Franz Lehar, and there is also a dance number where you’re encouraged to join in!
