Niasca’s small bay, Outdoor Portofino’s base, is famous for its Posidonia meadow.  Thanks to this marine plant, to the Park’s protection and to the particular geomorphological structure, this small bay's seabed is extremely rich in flora and fauna. A dive with mask and snorkel in this natural aquarium is an absolutely unique experience. The experience will end with a good restoring breakfast/snack on the beach overlooking Niasca Bay.

Comfortably sat on our terrace, you will attend a briefing held by the environmental guide. Through pictures, he will show you the great fish species and marine plants variety you will come across during the snorkeling.

It’s time to take mask, fins and snorkel: after a quick lesson on how to use this equipment, we are ready to dive. The environmental guide will lead you underwater searching for hidden treasures in Portofino’s Marine Protected Area.

During the first part of the excursion inside Niasca’s bay, you will swim above one of the most extended Posidonia meadow of the area which together with the near cliff, hosts many species such as tube-worms, starfish, pinna nobilis, posidonia, sponges and molluscs. Leaving Niasca’s bay to our shoulders, we get into the second part of our journey swimming towards Portofino in a coast section rich of fish species, such as sea breams, gilthead bream, sea bass, moray eel, damsel and many more.

Did you see a sea bream or a gilthead bream? A sea bass or a damsel? It’s time to go back to the beach and have fun identifying the sighted fish supported by pictures and by the environmental guide while tasting a good restoring breakfast/snack!
