During this tour you will learn about the history of Florence and its culinary traditions, discovering the food market and walking around the city center and stopping in interesting places.

This tour was planned and organized by tour guides (with a PhD in art history) and a professional chef (with a PhD in archeology and evolution of food) to guarantee quality, professionalism and excellence.

The tour will start with bringing you to the Mercato Centrale, the old food market where the Florentines go for buying delicacies: t-bone steak, porcini mushrooms, extra virgin olive oil, wine, cheese, pasta, balsamic vinegar... all your desires will be satisfied at the market! At the market you will taste some of the best food ever, as pecorino cheese (different ages) parmigiano cheese (different ages), balsamic vinegar (12 and 25 years), extra virgin olive oil, salami and prosciutto, cantucci & vin santo (almond cookies deep into a sweet wine). On the way to the chef's home, you will be able to stop in some authentic Italian shops, for more little tastings.

You will taste the coccoli, fried pasta that's a typical Florentine snack, and “crostino con i fegatini” (chicken liver canape) while drinking a glass of wine. Later, on the way to the chef's house, you will discover some of most interesting palaces of Florence where you will stop on a bridge for a fantastic picture of Ponte Vecchio. Once you will cross the Arno river, you will discover the Oltrarno with its fascinating atmosphere.

At the end of this tasty walk, you will meet the chef at her home, where the food experience goes on with a light lunch and some good wines.
Your food experience will end with a tiramisu cooking class and tastings. At the chef's table, you will enjoy hospitality and warmth that only a home can give you.
