Spend 8 hours on this small group tour to visit the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center and Sichuan Cuisine Museum. Observe the red and giant pandas as they go about their daily lives with your small-group of no more than 6 people. Then, learn about Sichuan cuisine, including participating in a traditional cooking class. Leave the tour with a certificate of completing the cooking lesson and be transferred back to your hotel.Begin the day with a pickup from your centrally located Chengdu hotel at approximately 8am. After getting into the car, make your way to the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center, which is 9 miles(15km) away from Chengdu's city center. The visit will last from 9am to 11am and this will give you the opportunity to observe the incredible giant pandas and red pandas.
At 12:00pm, you will be transferred to the Wide and Narrow Alleys, which are two ancient streets restoring the old architecture in Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) styles, and they are the shorten versions of Chengdu, a city combining history and modern changes. After the alleys visit, lunch will be provided at an authentic Chinese restaurant. Then, you will take a 1-hour drive to the Sichuan Cuisine Museum.
You will arrive at Sichuan Cuisine Museum around 2:30pm to start your food tour from sampling a selection of famous Sichuan snacks. You will also visit the Classic Collection Hall to learn about the evolution of Sichuan cuisine culture. Pick your own organic vegetables and practice traditional chili bean paste making. At 4pm, attend a cooking lesson where you will learn to prepare three typical Chinese dishes. Afterwards, enjoy the dishes you have made with fruits, red wine, Chinese herbal alcohol, and tea that are provided for free. You will receive a "Rookie Master Chef" certificate signed by the master chef as proof of completion of the lesson. Later, transfer back back to your Chengdu accommodation where this exciting day tour is concluded.
