Meet your guide at the Tokyo Opera City which is directly connected to Hatsudai Station and start biking around Shinjuku area surrounded by skyscrapers. This is a charming, diverse district of that is known for being a shopping area and also a business area. After 10 minutes of riding through backstreets, you'll discover a very tiny shrine in a local residential area. You will be surprised at the contrast of this modern atmosphere with a traditional atmosphere. 

After that, you will visit a mid-sized local shrine and temple through snaking alleys.

Then, you will head over to Meiji Jingu, the city’s most famous Shinto religious site, through Yoyogi Park where cherry blossoms are very beautiful in the spring. Take your time to walk around the peaceful gardens that surround the shrine with your guide.

Pedal your way to Japan’s iconic Roppongi Hills through the main street of Omotesando (one of the most sophisticated shopping areas in all of Japan) and then take a backstreet to the Aoyama cemetery that looks and feels like Tokyo, 100 years ago.

After leaving Roppongi Hills, you will stop by a local supermarket and buy a bento box for lunch just like local at your own expense.

Visit Zōjō-ji temple where the Tokyo Tower can be seen just behind the temple. You will be impressed at wonderful mixture of history and present day.

Enjoy lunch at the waterfront just beside the Rainbow Bridge with an excellent  panoramic view of the Tokyo skyline including the Aqua City Odaiba complex. After having lunch, you will bike through the main and back streets of Ginza. Check out this gorgeous, world class shopping district then cycle your way to the Imperial palace, home to a traditional Japanese garden, tea pavilion, stone walls and a moat. You will ride through the 2 outer gates of the castle, then follow along some of the large moat, where you can find original castle masonry.

Head back to Shinjuku and wrapping up your bike tour at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Climb up with a Japanese highspeed elevator to the top of this 48-story building, and you can enjoy the 360-degree view of Tokyo, including the Tokyo Skytree and even Mt. Fuji on  a clear day. Just a 5 minute ride to finish your bike exploration at the original meeting point. At the end of the tour, you will feel like you had a very local experience.
