Experience a walking tour through central Munich focusing on the City's association with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party. The tour draws together modern day Munich with it's more sinister past which is not obvious to the casual visitor. Your highly experienced native English speaking guide will lead you through this beautiful city, pointing out structures pertaining to the period whilst interweaving the story with a biography of Adolf Hitler and his relationship with the city.You will be met by your guide in front of the Glockenspiel on the world famous Marienplatz in central Munich. You will be given an historical overview of the City from it's founding in the 12th century up to the modern day. You will also learn how Munich was the birthplace of the Nazi party, a political creed spawned from a fusion of occultism, Nationalism and a small political party called the German Workers Party. You will see where Hitler joined this party and where he gave speeches, like the famous Hofbrauhaus. The route of the failed Putsch of 1923 will be explained and locations relevant to it shown, the building where the SS were founded. All the time weaving the relevance of this period with the modern day Munich. Your group will be led towards Königsplatz location of the infamous Führerbau, Hitlers headquarters in the city where the Munich agreement was signed in 1938, on the way the locations where Hitler liked to take coffee will be pointed out. The tour will finish at Königsplatz where you will have the option of being led back to the main station Munich or being left to maybe explore the brand new documentation center of National Socialism on the site of the old Brown House.
