As soon as we get under the Golden Gate Bridge, the sails go up, the engine goes off and we sail mostly down wind all the way through the central bay, the heart of the the San Francisco Bay back and very close to the Oakland Bay Bridge. Along the way you get the panoramic views of the San Francisco City front which includes Ghirardelli Square, Aquatic Park, Historic Ships, Russian and Nob Hill, Pacific Heights, The Presidio and Crissy Field.
As you sail away from the Golden Gale Bridge remember that each of the two main cables are 7650 feet long, it contains 27,572 galvanized wires which are bundled into 61 strands and the total length of wire used is 80,000 miles. Along the northern shores of the San Francisco Bay you will find Sausalito an old fishing town that is now famous for it's art galleries and water front eateries, Richardson Bay, Belevedeer Island which is one of the most expensive places to live in the Nation, Tiburon, Angle Island (The Elise Island of the West Coast) and of course the Bay Bridge.
Question: What structure in the United States has more concrete in it than any other? It's the concrete post that holds up the central portion of the western span of the Oakland Bay Bridge between Yerba Buena Island and San Francisco. The piece goes 100 feet under ground into the mud and all the way to the bed rock and stands 308 feet above the water. Wait did we mention that the sail comes with 2 drinks included? That's right on this sail we offer you a choice of Champagne, Mimosas, Beer, Wine, Soda or Water.
