This Aurora hunting tour is a small-group tour to the countryside of Tromsø, away from the city lights to experience the Northern Lights and the Arctic nature. Your guide will pick you up from the city centre and you and the rest of group will head out to the countryside around Tromsø or potentially out to the countryside in Finland if the weather conditions are better there. The group size is maximum 8 people, which guarantees an intimate and cozy experience for everyone.
Weather plays an important role in the northern lights hunt and determines where the team will decide to drive. The first option is the west coast side of Tromsø, with beautiful landscapes. If the coast is cloudy, you will head inland and chase the better weather in different locations all the way to Finland if needed. When finding a nice place with clear sky, the guide will make a camp with a bonfire for you to relax around, eat home-made soup and take some pictures. Sometimes you may need to wait for the aurora to appear and at other times you may be lucky enough to enjoy the show for the whole evening. Nature makes that decision for you, but your guides will make sure that you have everything else covered for an unforgettable experience in the arctic.
You will get a thermal suit and mittens from us to keep warm. For photography you can use our tripod with your camera. The guide will also give tips for right settings and take pictures and share them after the trip so you don't need to worry if you're not into photography.
When returning back to Tromsø, the guide will drive you directly to your hotel.
