Day 1: (D) Arrival in Lhasa
You will be picked up at the airport or train station upon arrival and transferred to the hotel where you will rest and adjust for high altitude acclimatization. Overnight: 4-star Snow Heaven Hotel (Xue Yu Tian Tang International Grand Hotel) or similar
Day 2: (B,L,D) Lhasa
Today, you will visit Drepung and Sera Monasteries. Drepung means “rice heap.” It was the residence of the Dalai Lamas until the Great Fifth Dalai Lama constructed Potala Palace. Founded in 1416, Drepung Monastery is one of the "great three" Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet where you can observe famous daily monks debates. After brief lunch break, you will visit Sera Monastery. Sera meas "Wild Roses." The monastery was founded in 1419 and comprised of the great assembly hall and three colleges. It is also one of the "great three" Gelug university monasteries of Tibet. Overnight: same as the above
Day 3: (B, L,D) Lhasa
Your first stop today is Potala Palace, which was named after Mt. Potalaka, the mythical abode of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. Explore the palace until lunch is served. Next, you will visit Jokhang Temple, a Buddhist temple in Barkhor Square that is considered the most sacred and important temple in Tibet. HIghlight of the temple is a 85-feet (26 meter) tall image of Buddha. Afterwards, continue to nearby Barkhor street to see the Barkor, a popular devotional circumambulation for pilgrims and locals. Day 4: (B, L,D) Lhasa - Shigatse (174 mi/280 km, 4-5 hours)
Today, you will drive about 4 to 5 hours to Shigatse. Enjoy the views of Tibetan city streets and beautiful rural landscapes during your ride. You will visit Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse. The full name of the monastery in Tibetan means "all fortune and happiness gathered here" or "heap of glory". Overnight: 4-star Gesar Hotel or similar
Day 5: (B, L,D) Shigatse - Mt. Everest Base Camp (212 mi/340 km, 6-7 hours)
Rise early this morning to embark on a 7 to 9 hours road trip to Mt. Everest Base Camp (17,060 ft/5,200 m) via Shegar. Enjoy magnificent landscapes along the way and the view of majestic Mount Everest. Overnight: Nomad Tents
Day 6: (B,L, D) Everest Base Camp - Shigatse (212 mi/340 km, 6-7 hours)
Today, you will trek on the trail along Mt. Everest Base Camp for about 2.5 to 5 miles (4 to 8 kms) to view the peak of Mt. Everest. After the hike, you will return to Shigatse. Overnight: 4-star Gesar Hotel or similar
Day 7: (B, L,D) Shigatse - Gyantse - Karola Glacier - Yamdrok Lake - Lhasa (218 mi/350 km, 7-9 hours)
You will set off for a day of sightseeing in the nature to visit Karola Glacier, Lake Yamdrok, Palcho Monastery and Kumbum Pagoda, and returning to Lhasa by 6pm. A group dinner will be served around 7pm. Overnight: same as the above

After breakfast, spend time at your leisure before leaving for airport or train station where this 8-day adventure concludes.
